Crystal Springs. Adjacent to Interstate 90, 20 miles west of Cle Elum, Exit 62. Fees: Single, $11; Double, $22; Extra vehicle per night, $9. Facilities: Community kitchen, vault toilets, tables, stoves, potable water. Number of Units: 22 single sites, 2 double sites; 4 picnicking. Activities: Tent and trailer camping, picnicking, fishing, berry picking, mushrooming, mountain biking.
Kachess. On Lake Kachess, approximately 5 miles off Interstate 90, 27 miles west of Cle Elum, I-90 Exit 62. Fees: Single, $14; Double, $28; Extra vehicle per night, $11. There also is a $5 day-use / boat launch fee for non-campers. Elevation: 2,250 feet. GPS: 47.3572; -121.243.
East Kachess Group Site. From the west: Turn off I-90 at Exit 70. Turn left, go over the freeway and turn left again. Follow the frontage road approximately ½ mile and then turn right onto Forest Service road #4818. Follow road #4818 approximately 5 miles. The campground will be on the left. From the east: Turn off I-90 at Exit 70. Turn right and then left at the T and follow frontage road as above. Reservations only. Call 1-877-444-6777, or, go to web site www.reserveusa.com. Fees: Weekdays, $65; Weekends, $90. Facilities: Sheltered dining area, garbage service, picnic tables, stove, vault toilets. Drinking water and campfire wood NOT available. Units: 1; maximum number of people, 100; maximum vehicles, 25; maximum length of RV is 30 feet. Activities: Lake beach access, biking, bird watching, boating, canoeing, beach combing, fishing, hiking mountain biking, photography, sight seeing, swimming, wildlife viewing.
