Horses can travel between the two countries for shows and private use as long as they are accompanied by a recent certificate showing they have received negative test results for equine infectious anemia and/or other specified equine diseases. Inspection of the animal by a government veterinarian may not be required. Horse owners entering the U.S. should be aware that there is a restriction of the amount of grain that can be imported with the animal.
