Coeur d'Alene National Forest
Facilities for the campgrounds in the Coeur d'Alene River area include a parking spur, picnic table, grill or fire ring, tent pad and pathways. Most campgrounds are open May through September depending on the weather. Elevation ranges between 2,100 to 2,800 feet.

Campground Camping

  • Beauty Creek Campground: Located 11 miles east of Coeur d'Alene then 4 miles south of I-90. Elevation of 2,100 feet, 20 camp sites including a day use group site with a covered pavilion, paved roads and parking spurs, picnic tables, vaulted toilets and hand-pumped potable water. Nearest city is Coeur d'Alene. GPS: 47.609677; -116.677691.
  • Bell Bay Campground: Located on the east shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene. 2 campground loops (upper and Lower) connected by a hiking trail. The lower lakeside loop has 15 campsites, pressurized water system with two hydrants, one host site hydrant and electricity to the pump house, vault toilets, phone and electrical hook ups. A trail from the lower loop accesses three docks used for fishing and swimming, campfire rings and picnic tables. Upper loop overlooks the lake with no direct access, 12 campsites, pit toilets, pressurized water system with two hydrants and electricity to the pump house. Elevation: 2600 feet. Nearest city is Coeur d'Alene. GPS: 47.474247; -116.844491.
  • Honeysuckle Campground: Located at the confluence of Deception Creek and the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River. 7 campsites, paved campground roads and parking spurs, potable well water, vault toilets. Elevation: 2,800 feet. Nearest city is Coeur d'Alene. GPS: 47.73773; -116.4767.
  • Mokins Bay Campground: Located 22 miles from Coeur d'Alene. 15 campsites, paved campground roads and campsite parking spurs, host site with electrical and telephone hookup and a 500-gallon dump vault, potable water well with a hand pump, culvert lined pit toilets, and a horseshoe pit. Elevation: 2,300 feet. Nearest city is Hayden. GPS: 47.784508; -116.666397.

Campgrounds at Farragut are on a first come, first served basis between Labor Day Weekend and the weekend before Memorial Day.

  • Snowberry Campground: Individual sites with water and electrical hook-ups, central shower and restroom facility.
  • Waldron Group Campground: Individual sites with water and electric hookups, central shower and restroom facility.
  • Whitetail Campground: Individual sites, central water, central shower and restroom facility
  • Corral Campground (Available only to those camping with stock animals): Individual sites with central water and vault toilets.
  • Ward Primitive RV Camping Area (Available only to those with fully self-contained RV's): Dispersed sites located along road edge, no services are available, an RV sanitation station with fresh water is located ½ mile away.

Shaded by towering pine trees, the campsites at Round Lake consist of 15 sites with modern restrooms and showers, picnic tables and barbeque grills. Canoe rentals are available.
