This outdoor festival of arts and crafts is held at the old Fort Sherman Grounds on the North Idaho
College Campus, a short walk from downtown. Art on the Green features hands-on
art for children and adults and of course the artists' work for display and purchase. Food is also available.

Coeur d'Alene Triathlon starts with a 1.5k swim in the
lake followed by a 40k bike ride down scenic Coeur d'Alene Drive then finishes with a 10k run ending.

Coeur d'Alene National Forest has many types of recreation. Explore the hundreds of miles of
trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Hike the 5 mile Caribou Ridge
that connects Beauty Bay Campground and Mt. Coeur d'Alene picnic area. At the
top take in the stunning view of Lake Coeur d'Alene and the mountains. Bike the
13 mile trail, the Route of the Hiawatha, an abandoned railbed going through 9
cavernous tunnels and over 7 high trestles. Enjoy the water activities including
fishing for rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout, boating, swimming and tubing in
one of the lakes (Hayden and Coeur d'Alene), rivers or streams. Play in the
backcountry areas with your motorcycle or ATV. Winter offers cross country
skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Access Coeur d'Alene Parkway State Park by taking Exit 15, Sherman Avenue from I-90 or from the city center by driving east on Sherman Avenue and turning onto Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive. This park is located along the north shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene following the North Idaho Centennial Trail Higgens Point. A boat launch along with a picnic area that overlooks the lake is located at Higgens Point. View the Veterans Memorial Bridge or watch for bald eagles at the Bennett bay area. Benches, picnic tables and restrooms are available.

Farragut State Park has over 40 miles of trails for hiking and biking featuring the Highpoint and Scout Trails that lead to Bernard Peak. The north side of the park offers the corral for day use and over 20 miles of trails for horseback riding. Swim at Beaver Bay Beach, one of the few places where the water is warm enough for swimming. Eagle Boat Launch provides the only major access for boaters on the south end of Pend Oreille Lake.

Round Lake Park offers all the water activities including fishing and swimming, trails for hiking, biking and wildlife viewing plus cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.

The North Idaho Centennial Trail is a multi-use trail extending 24 miles from the Idaho-Washington state line to Higgens Point

The 73 miles of smooth trail made of asphalt begins in the historic Silver Valley, along Lake Coeur d'Alene past the city of Coeur d'Alene through the farmlands to Plummer. This road is ideal for biking and in-line skating.
