Located northwest of Ontario on the Oregon-Idaho border on the banks of the Snake River's Brownlee Reservoir lies the historic Farewell Bend State Recreation Area. This park is on the historic Oregon Trail. The wagon ruts are still visible. Antelope Loop is open for camping on a first-come, first-served basis. Brownlee and Catfish Loops can be reserved. Two log cabins are also available to rent and are accessible to campers with disabilities.
- Farewell campgrounds have over 90 electrical sites with water, approximately 30 tent sites with water nearby, hiker/biker sites, group tent camp, hot showers, flush toilets, RV dump station, firewood and ice for sale, horseshoe pits, basketball hoops, and volleyball court.

Located approximately 45 miles southwest of Ontario in Nyssa, Lake Owyhee State Park is situated on the shore of the scenic Owyhee Reservoir, a 53 mile long lake that fills a deep and narrow canyon. There are two campgrounds in this park.
- McCormack Campground: 29 electrical sites with water, 8 tent sites with water nearby, 2 teepees, hot showers, flush toilets, RV dump station and firewood for sale. Two campsites and one tepee are accessible to campers with disabilities.
- Indian Creek Campground: Over 25 electrical sites with water, 5 primitive sites with water, boat ramp, marine fuel and ice. Two campsites are accessible to campers with disabilities.
