Location

Columbia Falls, encircled by the Flathead National Forest in the northeast corner of the Flathead Valley, is 15 miles northeast of Kalispell and 15 miles west of Glacier National Park.

Getting to Columbia Falls

Main routes in are US 2, US 93, MT 206, MT 40. Closest Interstate is I-90 to the south.

Air
Glacier Park International Airport is about 10 minutes south, near Kalispell. Services include Big Sky Airlines, Delta Airlines, Horizon Airlines, Northwest Airlines and Holman Aviation (private charters).

Rail
The daily Amtrak passenger service the Empire Builder runs between Seattle/Portland and Chicago. Nearby depots are in: Whitefish (11 miles north, toll free phone: 800-862-7245) and West Glacier.

Description

Columbia Falls, like other towns in the Flathead Valley, offers close proximity to year-round outdoor recreation.

Until 1998, the town didn't really have a "falls" to its name. So it built one, complete with a small park, behind Glacier Bank when you turn onto Nucleus Avenue.
