National Forest

Located on the Olympic Peninsula, the Olympic National Forest consists of five major landscapes: temperate rain forest, rugged mountain terrain, lowland lakes, rivers and saltwater beaches.

National Park

Olympic National Park
Spanning nearly one million acres, Olympic National Park offers diverse landscape settings ranging from Pacific Ocean beaches to rain forest valleys to glacier-capped peaks. The tallest mountain in the park, Mount Olympus stands at 7,965 feet (2,438 meters). Roads provide access to the outer edges of the park.

State Parks

Located on the shore of Hood Canal approximately a half mile north of Brinnon, Dosewallips offers 5,500 feet of saltwater shoreline on Hood Canal and 5,400 feet of freshwater shoreline on either side of the Dosewallips River. Enjoy the scenic views of the Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains or observe the wildlife on the viewing platform.

Triton Cove State Park. Located on the Olympic Peninsula on the west side of Hood Canal, 6 miles south of Brinnon, Brinnon, WA 98320. Phone: 360-796-4415.

Triton Cove is a small park of 29 acres located on the Hood Canal featuring an ADA-compliant boat launch with access to near-shore fishing.

Waterfalls

Rocky Brook Falls
Easy level walk (about 200 yards) rising to a spectacular 229 foot tall waterfall. A small hydrologic project was installed at the falls in 1986 which supplies water for Brinnon. The hike starts at 3000 Dosewallips Road in Brinnon.

Murhut Falls
The trail was once a logging road. In spring huge native rhododendrons and tiny umbrella ferns bloom along the shady trail making this an ideal hike on hot summer days.
