Lewiston activities and outdoor recreation mainly occur in the warm months. Being located at the confluence of the mighty Snake and Clearwater Rivers means excellent fishing for steelhead, sturgeon, salmon and bass fishing. The Clearwater River is known for its steelhead, especially since the river is home to the world's largest steelhead hatchery. Other rivers in the area, such as the Salmon River south of Lewiston, are also known for outstanding fishing. The nearby Hells Canyon National Recreation Area makes Lewiston a prime destination for river rafting, kayaking and jet boat tours. Nature trails and parks provide wonderful hiking and biking opportunities. Find what to do in Lewiston.
