Weather
Don't be fooled by the evergreen forest; Wood River Valley actually has a mountain desert climate so compared to other ski resorts there is somewhat less moisture here. The crisp, clear winter air that so enamored the sun-loving gentleman who named the resort, is perhaps also behind the investment in the world's largest computer-controlled snowmaking system. It cover 630 acres, about one third of the mountains runs, and assures skiers fresh powder on the mountain every morning during the ski season.
