Long Beach offers many activities. Just head to the beach go clamming, horseback riding, kite flying or run with Fido. Join in one of the festivals and events such as Sandsations and the Washington International Kite Festival. Take a hike in Cape Disappointment or Leadbetter Point State Parks. Stroll on the boardwalk and explore the Discovery Trail. Play a game of golf or tennis. Whatever outdoor recreation you seek, you will be sure to find in Long Beach.
Clamming and Crabbing
Ocean Sport Razor Clam Season on the Long Beach Peninsula typically
opens for a few days each month October through April. Several species
of crab are found on the Long Beach Peninsula (Dungeness and red rock).

Beach-to-Chowder
Run/Walk.

This event features a 5K or 10K run or walk on the hard-packed beach sand
then work up an appetite for the tasty clam chowder. The race starts and
ends in the vicinity of arch on the Bolstad beach approach in Long Beach.
Doggie Olympic
Games
These games provide a competitive, friendly environment where dogs of all
ages and breeds can play together.

Friday night starts the festival with a rodeo parade through downtown. Saturday begins with the famous cowboy breakfast. In the afternoon the rodeo begins featuring top cowboys and cowgirls in the northwest competing in Bareback, Saddle Bronc, and Bull Riding, Breakaway Roping, Calf Roping, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, and Barrel Racing.

Initiated in 1950 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Loyalty Day is a
historically rich celebration of patriotism.
Sandsations
Annual sandcastle building and entertainment including a beach bonfire and
the Sand Flea Pet Parade. Free sculpting lessons are available.
Summerfest
SummerFest runs from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend and features
many activities such as face painting, horse and wagon rides, balloon art,
music, magic and much more.
Surf Perch Derby
Each year on the Saturday after Mother's Day the celebration starts off with
a hearty breakfast so you can fish and compete for cash prizes. Open to
individuals and three-man teams. Raffle and door prizes are also included.

Cape Disappointment offers water activities such as saltwater fishing, clamming and crabbing. A Columbia River fish-cleaning station is also available to fishermen. Enjoy wildlife and bird watching or engage in a softball or volleyball game. Three fields are available for softball and 2 fields for volleyball.

Discovery
Trail
This segment of the Discovery Trail includes a bronze marker of Captain
Clark with a sturgeon, interpretive displays along the Long Beach Boardwalk,
and a variety of metal sculptures, including bicycle racks shaped like fish
and dancing dogs with litter bags.
Lewis & Clark Commemorative Trail
This eight mile segment of the Lewis & Clark Discovery Trail runs between
Long Beach and Ilwaco. Be sure to see the Bronze sculptures of Captain
William Clark and a 10-foot-long sturgeon and Clark's Tree Sculpture.
Long
Beach Boardwalk
his popular, half mile long boardwalk appears suspended among the grassy
dunes. Enjoy the interpretive displays, scenic views, picnic areas and
sculptures. Crossing beneath the Long Beach Boardwalk at the half-way mark
is the 8-mile Lewis & Clark Discovery Trail. Open for bicyclists, runners,
walkers and skaters.
