Seattle has beautiful parks and gardens where you can spend a leisurely afternoon. The parks offer a variety of amenities including beaches, playgrounds, community events such as festivals and classes, off-leash areas for dogs, hiking and biking trails plus much more. For those who love flowers, plants and unique landscape features, visit one of the gardens where you can escape from the hustle and bustle in a scenic atmosphere. Discovery Park
Walking and jogging trails through forest and upon wild and windswept
grassy meadows. Steep sea cliffs with beach access and lighthouse. Reputedly
Seattle's best birding spot. Native American cultural activities and art
exhibits are at the park's Daybreak Star Arts Center. The 535 acre park is
Seattle's largest, and is also home to the Fort Lawton Military Reservation.

Located in the Wallingford neighborhood on the north shore of Lake Union, Gas Works Park may be one of the strangest parks of all time. built on the former site of Seattle Gas Light Company, the park incorporated the pieces of the gas plant, hence the name.

Green Lake Park is home to a good variety of birds and waterfowl in addition to hundred of plants and trees. A path travels around the lake for walking, biking and skating. There is also a workout station, athletic fields, a beach for swimming and picnicking spots.

Myrtle Edwards Park features a 1.25-mile winding bike and pedestrian path along Elliott Bay sporting views of the Olympics Mountains, Mount Rainier, and Puget Sound. It offers easy access from downtown and easy connection to bike paths to Magnolia.

Oxbow Park, home to Hat n' Boots, is Georgetown's most famous landmark where a premium Tex Texaco gas station was built in the 1950's. The giant red cowboy hat served as the office and the elaborately painted cowboy boots housed the restrooms.

Located at the north end of Pike Place market, Victor Steinbruek Park sits of the site of the Washington State National Armory built in 1909. This a great park for relaxing in or enjoying a picnic.

Volunteer Park is home the Conservatory which houses the "corpse flower", the Seattle Asian Art Museum, monuments and sculptures. Rich in history this park became a Seattle landmark in 2011. Here you can play tennis, walk or bike on paths, have a picnic or watch children play on the equipment or splash in the wading pool.
