Rockaway Beach Kite Festival
This family friendly event is held the third weekend in May and offers activities for everyone such as learning how to make and fly a kite.

Cape Lookout, a popular day use area and campground is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route. Located on a sand spit between Netarts Bay and the Ocean you can enjoy all your favorite beach activities. The Cape Lookout trail and the nature trail are great for scenic hikes.

Part of the Three Capes Scenic Route, Cape Meares is situated on a headland over 200 feet above the ocean. Take a tour of the lighthouse built in the 1890's or hike one of the trails. See the Octopus Tree and the largest Sitka spruce tree in Oregon.

Manhattan is a day use park perfect for a picnic and offers a short walk on the access trail to the beach.

Munson Creek State Natural Site. Phone: 503-842-3182; Toll-free: 1-800-551-6949. GPS: 45.365364 N; -123.804079 W.

Hike a short trail winding along the Munson Creek to discover the tallest waterfall in the Coast Range, Munson Creek Falls. Have a picnic and watch the waters for spawning salmon during the late fall.

Nehalem Bay has all of the fun beach activities including kite flying, beachcombing, crabbing, fishing and clamming. Being part of the Nehalem Water Trail offers a route for kayakers. A forested bike path provides wildlife viewing and a scenic view of the bay.

Oceanside is a popular park to fish, surf, beachcomb, kite flying and agate hunting in the winter.
