Both private and public campgrounds and RV Parks are found in Gearhart. Public campsites are found at Cape Lookout and Fort Stevens State Parks providing scenic hiking trails and beach activities. The campgrounds at Oswald State Park have been closed.

Camping at Cape Lookout offers over 170 tent sites with nearby water, 35 full-hookup sites, 1 electrical site with water, 2 group camping areas, hiker/biker camp, hot showers, flush toilets, RV dump station and firewood for sale. Two campsites and one cabin are accessible to campers with disabilities.

Fort Stevens camping consists of 174 full hookup, 302 electrical, 6 tent (maximum site 50 feet) and hiker/biker camping by request.
