Glacier View Ranger District

  • Big Creek Campground: Located 20 miles north of Columbia Falls on North Fork Road in bear country, this campground has 22 sites with picnic tables and fire grates, vault toilets, potable water and boat ramp. Group camping is available. Pets must be on a leash at all times. Nearest town is Columbia Falls. GPS: 48.60216; -114.16434.
  • Moose Lake Campground: Located 35 miles north of Columbia Falls on North Fork Road this campground has 3 sites with afire ring and vault toilet but no drinking water. Nearest town is Columbia Falls. GPS: 48.62842; -114.38892.
  • Red Meadow Lake Campground: Located 41 miles north of Columbia Falls on Forest Service Road 115, this campground near Red meadow Lake has 6 sites and 1 vault toilet. Must bring own water. Closest town is Polebride. Elevation: 5,500 feet. GPS: 48.75430; -114.56373.
  • Tuchuck Campground: Located about 50 miles north of Columbia Falls, this campground has 7 sites in the Whitefish Range, vault toilet, several trailheads nearby and stock facilities for equestrians (feed bunks, hitch rails and load ramp). Nearest town is Polebridge. GPS: 48.92273; -114.60044.

Hungry Horse Ranger District

  • Devil Creek Campground: Located about 30 miles east of West Glacier on Highway 2 between Glacier National Park and the Great Bear Wilderness, this campground has 14 sites (RV's up to 40 feet in length) available Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend with picnic tables, fire rings, potable water and 2 vault toilets, trailhead access and nearby fishing. Nearest town is Hungry Horse, 44 miles away. Elevation: 4,360 feet. GPS: 48.11054; -113.69612.
  • Devil's Corkscrew Campground: Located on the east side of the Hungry Horse Reservoir this campground has 4 sites with no drinking water and 1 vault toilet. Nearest town is Martin City, 37 miles away. GPS: 48.11054; -113.69612.
  • Doris Creek Campground: Located on the west side of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, this campground has 10 campsites available from Mid-May through Mid-September with picnic tables, fire rings and vault toilet. No water. Nearest town is Hungry Horse. Elevation: 3,570 feet. GPS: 48.30500; -113.98178.
  • Emery Bay Campground: Located on the east shore of the Hungry Horse Reservoir off of Road 38, this campground has 26 campsites available from Mid-May through Mid-September, boat ramp, potable water and vault toilet. Nearest town is Martin City. GPS: 48.33396; -113.94939.
  • Handkerchief Lake Campground: Located on the west side of the Hungry Horse Reservoir off Road 895, this is a primitive campground consisting of 3 walk-in sites with picnic table and 1 vault toilet. No water. Nearest town is Hungry Horse 38 miles away. GPS: 48.140538; -113.823753.
  • Lakeview Campground: Located near the west shore of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, this campground has campsites, vault toilet, fishing in the reservoir. No water. Nearest town is Hungry Horse 24 miles away. Elevation: 3,600 feet. GPS: 48.21847; -113.80538.
  • Lid Creek Campground: Located on the west side of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, this campground has 23 sites available Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend with picnic tables, vault toilets and fire grates. No water. Nearest town is Hungry Horse 15 miles away. GPS: 48.28588; -113.90954.
  • Lost Johnny Campground: Located on the west side of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, this campground has 5 sites available from Mid-May through Mid-September with potable water and vault toilet. Nearest town is Hungry Horse. Elevation: 3,600 feet. GPS: 48.30685; -113.96964.
  • Lost Johnny Point Campground: Located on the west shore of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, this campground has 21 sites, available August 1 through Mid-September, with potable water, 4 vault toilets and 2 pit toilets.   • Murray Bay Campground: Located on the east shore of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, this campground has 20 campsites available from Mid-May through Mid-September, with picnic tables, firegrates, potable water, vault toilets, garbage service and free access to the boat ramp at Riverside Boat Launch/Campground. Nearest town is Martin City 22 miles away. GPS: 48.29596; -113.81507.

There are13 different campgrounds and over 100 sites to choose from in Glacier National Park. Most of the campgrounds are on a first come first served basis with the exceptions being Fish Creek, St. Mary and half of the group sites in Apgar.
