Blackfoot, Idaho

Blackfoot, Idaho is known as the "Potato Capital of the World" due to the fact that it has the largest potato industry in the world. It is home to the Idaho Potato Museum. Be sure to see the world's largest baked potato and potato chip.

Every year Blackfoot has the Idaho State Fair which runs between Labor Day weekend and the following weekend.

The name "Blackfoot" can be traced back to the summer of 1818 when a group of trappers and traders from Hudson's Bay Company passed through. Previously in 1812 there had been wildfires and the people who walked through the burned had gotten their moccasins black.
