Rainier National Park, Packwood has unlimited recreational opportunities such as trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding including the Pacific Crest Trail, fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking in one of the many rivers, lakes and streams. Winter activities at nearby White Pass include snow skiing and snowboarding. Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument is 30 miles away and provides hiking and educational opportunities. The community organized flea market, held every Memorial and Labor Day weekends, feature antiques, toys, tools, homemade crafts, food vendors and more.

This three day event features live music, square dance demo, Native American drum ceremony, Dutch oven demos and food samples, quilt show, crafts, chili feed, a walking tour of historic Packwood, art displays by local artists, craft show plus special museum displays.

Gifford Pinchot National Forest
Outdoor recreation in Gifford Pinchot Forest has unlimited possibilities
such as trails for hiking, including the Pacific Crest Trail, water
activities such as canoeing, kayaking, rafting, boating and fishing in
one of the many rivers or lakes. Horseback riding and camping is also
available as well as OHV riding and cross country skiing and snowshoeing
in the winter months.
Packwood Lake
Packwood Lake is reached by an easy 4 mile hike. Located east of
Packwood, this lake is adjacent to the Goat Rocks Wilderness providing
an excellent view of Johnson Peak. There is trail access into the
Wilderness. Fishing is good in the late spring.
Mt. Rainier National Park
Mt. Rainier National Park has hundreds of miles of trails for hiking,
boating, fishing and snow activities. Guides are available for climbing
Mt. Rainier.
