Seattle
Earthquake February 28, 2001
A major earthquake measuring a magnitude of 6.8 struck Seattle and the
Puget Sound region of the Pacific Northwest at 10:54 a.m. on February 28,
2001 causing widespread, but slight to moderate damage estimated at $2
billion.
Injuries were limited to fewer than 200 people and no deaths have been
attributed to the quake.
