Eagle Cap
Extreme Sled Dog Race
Eagle Cap Extreme runs through the Wallowa Mountains and features a 200
mile; 12 dog race, a 100 mile; 8 dog race and a 31 mile pot race. Check

This three day festival begins with special reception where you can meet the artists and preview the art while enjoying hors d'oeuvres, wine and other beverages. Door prizes are also given out.

This festival is sponsored by Wallowa County Gamblers Snowmobile Club
(WCGSC). Participate in adult winter games, all you can eat breakfast

Hiking trails offer stunning views of the Wallowa Mountains. While on your hike, note the wildflowers and wildlife.

Located along the Wallowa River, this day-use site is a popular fishing spot, especially for fly fishing as you can wade in the river in many spots. Steelhead fishing is good during the spring and fall.

Wallowa Lake is popular for fishing , boating and canoeing. Hiking and wilderness trails, horseback riding, bumper boats, miniature golf and the gondola ride are some of the many activities around the area.

Fishing, hunting, OHV riding, hiking trails, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are some of the activities to do in the popular recreation areas including the Eagle Cap Wilderness, Lostine River Canyon, Hurricane Creek, Reds Horse Ranch, the Lakes Basin, Wallowa Lake Tram, Moss Springs, Catherine Creek, West and East Eagle, Fish Lake, Cornucopia, Clear Creek and the Lostine, Minam, Imnaha and Eagle Creek Rivers.

Salt Creek Summit Sno-Park. Located 20 miles southeast of Joseph on Forest Road 39 and adjacent to the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway, this Sno-Park is popular for snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. A large parking area and winter maintenance facility with a vault toilet are also available.
