May - Festival, Leavenworth Spring Bird Festival
Experience a weekend celebrating birdsong and exploring the natural world through birding, geology, wildflowers and conservation. The Leavenworth area features spectacular habitats, ranging from snow-capped mountains to sunny pine forests, attracting a wide variety of birds. Guided trips and activities range from leisurely strolls to active hikes and most events are free. Sponsored by North Central Washington Audubon, the US Forest Service, US Fish & Wildlife, Upper Valley Arts, Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce and the Icicle Fund.

May - Festival, Maifest
Celebrate spring in Bavaria! Enjoy entertainment all weekend. Experience the Grand Parade, live entertainment, traditional German dancing including the Maipole Dance. Stroll through the Bavarian Village of Flowers, visit Art in the Park, all our great shops and restaurants and tap your toes to oompa music!

The only nutcracker museum In the USA (one of two worldwide), the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum, a National Heritage Foundation. View over 5,000 nutcrackers datingback to the 14th Century!

June - Event, The Great Bavarian Walk
The Great Bavarian Walk raises awareness and money for autoimmune disease research. Sponsored by Pat's Fund.

June - Festival, Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration
Concerts, Dances, Competitions and Accordion Parade.

June - Leavenworth Wine Walk
Sample Regional wines while strolling through galleries.

June - Bavarian Bike & Brews Festival
IMBA Sanctioned XC Bike Race.

July Weekends - Festival, Annual Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival
Icicle Creek celebrates its 11th Anniversary with this year's Chamber Festival. Chamber music is offered Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Resident Icicle Creek Musicians are joined by guest artists. For detailed program information call the Center office.

July - Festival, Kinderfest & Fourth of July Celebration
Family Fun including Free refreshments and balloons.

August - Festival, Acoustic Music Festival
Live acoustic music featuring folk, jazz, bluegrass, Celtic and more is performed in Waterfront Park. Bring a blanket, a picnic lunch and enjoy a day of music for all ages. Sponsored by the Leavenworth Community Coffeehouse.

August - Festival, Leavenworth Wine Tasting Festival
Enjoy tasting the wines of premier Washington State vineyards in a country setting while browsing art booths and listening to great live music.

August -Art in the Park

September - Event, Spaziergang Durch Quilts in Leavenworth Enjoy quilt displays throughout the village.

September - Festival, Wenatchee River Salmon Festival
Celebrate the annual return of the salmon to the Wenatchee River with hands-on activities, educational exhibits, entertainment, arts and crafts and more! E-mail

September - Festival, Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival
Celebrate the area's spectacular fall foliage! Enjoy the Grand Parade at noon on Saturday. Continuous entertainment, food booths and activities for the whole family.

September - Festival, Leavenworth Fall Music Festival
Live music at Ski Hill, a fund-raiser for Leavenworth Winter Sports Club.

October - Event, Oktoberfest
Celebrate in Leavenworth, the ideal setting for you and your family to enjoy the great tradition of Oktoberfest! Live music, German food and beer, Arts and Crafts, used Bavarian clothing sale, musical groups from Germany and the US and a traditional Oktoberfest Procession.

December - Christmas Lighting Festival
Visitors come back year after year for this famous Leavenworth festival. Fridays the town is in darkness awaiting Saturday's festivities. The aroma of food booths and roasting chestnuts fills the air; holiday music from the gazebo encircles the village while youngsters sled in the park; holiday personalities stroll the streets; Santa, St. Nick and Father Christmas provide photo opportunities and sleigh rides are minutes away. At dusk everyone gathers to sing & quote; "Silent Night" and witness the lighting of the village as it is transformed into a magical wonderland of lights.

Dec. 17 - Event, Starlight Lantern Parade
Make or buy your Bavarian lanterns and gather at the gazebo in Front Street Park at 6 p.m. and proceed to the Nazarene Church for the first performance of the Living Nativity. Free cookies and hot chocolate at the church.
